Devon Seaford, a 6-foot-0 point guard from Gastonia, N.C., has signed to play basketball for the Lipscomb Bisons.

Lipscomb Coach Scott Sanderson announced the signing of Seaford Wednesday afternoon on the national early signing day.

Seaford plays for Hope Christian Academy in Kings Mountain, N.C. He played the past three seasons for Gaston Day School.

In 2005 he was a First Team All-Conference selection averaging 14.3 points and 4.5 assists per game. He was also First Team All-Conference in 2004, averaging 14.1 points and 3.4 assists per game. In 2003 he was a member of the All-Conference Second Team averaging 11.1 points per game.

Seaford was selected by Seth Davis, the writer of "Hoop Thoughts" for Sports as one of his "Summertime Top 10" players. Seaford caught the eye of Davis in the finals of the Adidas Tournament where he led his Charlotte Royals to the finals. Davis was impressed with Seaford's "tenacity and smarts."

Devon's father, Rod Seaford, told that his son was convinced Lipscomb was the place for him after making an unofficial visit.

"Everything about it just knocked his socks off," Rod Seaford said to Justin Young of "The facilities were great. The weight room to the locker rooms to the dorms to the classrooms, everything was nice. It was the whole package."

He is the son of Cindy and Rod Seaford.
