MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb senior Brian Fisk proved to be the offensive catalyst for the Bisons last week, leading the team in scoring and assists to earn Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week honors.
Fisk opened the week by scoring a game-high 19 points to go with six assists in the Bisons 75-55 drubbing of Nicholls State. The victory extended Lipscomb's home court winning streak to 15 games overall, the 10th best active streak in the NCAA. The Newbern, Tenn., native followed with 18 points and eight assists as Lipscomb narrowly missed capturing the season sweep of Missouri Valley Conference foe Evansville on Saturday night. For the week, the guard averaged 18.5 points and 7.0 assists per game while shooting a scorching 77.8% (7-of-9) from the three-point line and 63.6% (14-of-22) overall from the floor. The preseason All-Atlantic Sun selection is majoring in Psychology.
The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out Player of the Week awards weekly during the 2006-07 men's basketball campaign.
The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
