Less than 24 hours after a season-ending loss to ETSU in the Atlantic Sun Tournament Semi-finals, many Bisons players were in the stands of Allen Arena cheering.
They weren't at a college game, or cheering for any of the teams playing in the TSSAA Division Two state tournament.
They were cheering for their future teammates.
Saturday afternoon following the Division Two state championship game, Lipscomb signee Brandon Brown was named Tennessee's D2 Mr. Basketball.
The 6-7 forward from Brentwood Academy finished the season averaging 16.2 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game while shooting 64% inside the three-point line and 58% overall.
His teammate and fellow Lipscomb signee Brian Wright was named the the D2 All-Tournament team.
Wright, a 6-6 forward, averaged 13 points per game to go along with 5 rebounds per game.
Both players were named to the D2 Middle All-Region Team and were nominated for the McDonald's All-American team.
While they did not win the state championship this year, they bring to Lipscomb an attitude of "Finished Business." Brentwood Academy won the State Championship Brown and Wright's Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years while making the state tournament quarterfinals their senior season.
Coach Sanderson describes Brandon as "extremely athletic. He can really shoot the ball. He is a good rebounder. He has played against great competition."
Coach Sanderson describes Brian as a "very athletic player who is really hard to guard. He is absolutely a great kid."
Brown and Wright will be joined on the court next year by incoming Freshmen Adnan Hadzic and Josh Slater.
