Lipscomb coach Scott Sanderson jumped at the opportunity to play Indiana, not only seeking a signature game, but also to increase Lipscomb’s presence in the prospect-heavy state.
The Bisons are heading to Bloomington, Ind., to face off against the Hoosiers on Sunday, December 28th.
“Indiana is a great game for us because two of our players are from there – Adnan Hodzic and Michael Teller – and we’re trying more and more to recruit up in the Indiana area,” said Sanderson.
The Bisons warm up for the season with a home exhibition against Freed-Hardeman on Nov. 4.
They open the regular season with three home games starting with Oakland City University on Nov. 15, Tennessee Tech on Nov. 18, and Southeast Louisiana on Nov. 20.
Lipscomb travels to Samford on Nov. 24 before visiting Tennessee Tech on Dec. 1.
Sanderson’s Bisons kick off their Atlantic Sun schedule with a visit to Jacksonville, Fla., to play North Florida on Dec. 4 and Jacksonville on Dec. 6.
The Atlantic Sun returns to a 20-game round-robin conference schedule this year.
“I like returning to the 20-game conference schedule,” said Sanderson. “Last year, we went to the 16-game schedule and had to play 13 of our first 16 games on the road.
“I’ve always been an opponent of playing a full round-robin schedule facing each team at home and on the road.”
The Bisons face SIU-Edwardsville at home on December 9th before traveling to Raleigh, N.C. to face NC State on Dec. 20 and Elon University on Dec. 22.
Tennessee Tech and SIU-Edwardsville are member of the Ohio Valley Conference. Samford left the OVC after last season to join the Southern Conference.
“The Ohio Valley Conference schools are great teams to play,” said Sanderson. “We’ve signed a four-year deal with Tennessee Tech. Playing teams like us is excellent, and when you throw in marquees games at Indiana and NC State, it is an excellent schedule. “
Lipscomb plays their first four games of the new year in Nashville facing Florida Gulf Coast (Jan. 3), Stetson (Jan. 5), and Campbell (Jan. 8) at Allen Arena.
Lipscomb heads three miles down Belmont Boulevard to face Belmont on Monday, Jan. 12.
Belmont visits Allen Arena on Thursday, Feb.12.
Lipscomb will host Mercer (Jan. 24), Kennesaw State (Jan. 26), USC Upstate (Feb. 14), ETSU (Feb. 16), Jacksonville (Feb. 26), and North Florida (Feb. 28).
The Bisons travel to ETSU (Jan. 17), USC Upstate (Jan. 19), Stetson (Jan. 31), Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 2), Campbell (Feb. 9), Mercer (Feb. 20), and Kennesaw State (Feb. 22).
The Atlantic Sun Tournament will be played at Allen Arena March 4-7.
