The Game

The Lipscomb University Bisons (14-12, 11-6 A-Sun) seek their first win at Stetson (6-21, 4-14) since joining the NCAA Saturday evening.  The game is set to tip at 6 p.m. CT.

Lipscomb easily defeated Florida Gulf Coast 93-75 Thursday evening as Josh Slater finished one rebound short of a triple-double with 19 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds.  Adnan Hodzic led the Bisons with 24 points.  Lipscomb shot 56.7 percent from the floor and hit 12 3-pointers.

Stetson went on a 21-5 run to attempt a late comeback against Belmont Thursday evening but fell 79-70.  A.J. Smith paced the Hatters with 23 points while freshman Joel Naburgs scored a career-high 15 points and tied career marks with six rebounds and five assists.

Stetson holds a 8-6 advantage in the all-time series.  Lipscomb is 0-6 at Stetson since joining the Atlantic Sun.  Lipscomb’s sole road win against Stetson was a 67-59 victory on Dec. 19, 1962.  The Bisons defeated Stetson 84-63 in Allen Arena on Jan. 2 behind a dominating 29-point performance by Hodzic who shot 11-of-15 from the floor and 7-of-11 from the line. Lipscomb shot 60.4 percent from the floor, including hitting 73.7 percent of their shots in the second half.
