Glenn, McAlister receive sportsmanship award

Lipscomb basketball seniors Justin Glenn and Leah McAlister recently received the A.D. Hancock/Walter Nipper Sportsmanship Award from the Nashville City Civitan Club.

The award is given to a member of the men's and women's basketball teams at each college and university in Nashville along with a representative from each high school district champion. It is given based on leadership, character and sportsmanship.

Glenn, a 6-foot-8 center, was awarded the James R. Byers at last week's Don Meyer Evening of Excellence.  He was selected to the Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference Team.

McAlister leaves a legacy of spiritual leadership for the women's basketball team and was known as a leader who unselfishly gave of herself to her teammates.  The 5-foot-9 wing was a team captain for two years.
