Men's hoops opens fall camp with spirited practice

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – At the stroke of 5 p.m., the 2012-13 Lipscomb men’s basketball team hit the court in historic McQuiddy Gymnasium for the first full practice of the fall camp

“I thought for the first practice the energy, the focus and the effort was really good,” said Lipscomb head coach Scott Sanderson.  “We have a long way to go but we have some very good pieces (in place) but it’s a process.”

“We’ve got to learn how to play together offensively and defensively and play as one.  We made some progress today but we have a ways to go.”

Featuring one of the nation’s youngest squads, the Bisons return just six players that saw action on the floor last season.

Lipscomb opens the regular season on Nov. 9 hosting Belmont in the “Battle of the Boulevard” at 6:30 p.m. after a Nov. 1 exhibition tune-up against Freed Hardeman.   Single game and season tickets can be purchased by visiting or calling 615-966-HERD (4373).
