LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a short break in the schedule for exams, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team returns to action on Saturday against No. 22 Kentucky at Rupp Arena, in Lexington, Ky.
The Bisons (4-4, 0-0 A-Sun) and Wildcats (6-3, 0-0 SEC) are set to tipoff at 11:30 a.m. in a contest that will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net/SportsSouth. Both squads are coming off a week of rest as Lipscomb downed UT Martin 86-62 while Kentucky routed Portland 74-46 last Saturday.
Despite being just over three hours apart, the two teams have only met once previously in 2005 with the Wildcats taking a 67-49 win to claim the championship of the Guardians Classic.
The twin duo of Malcolm and Martin Smith continue to pace the Bisons in scoring. Malcolm leads the team with a 13.0 points-per-game average, while Martin is averaging a dozen points each night for LU. Junior guard Khion Sankey paces the squad in rebounding hauling down 8.1 boards per contest.
The Wildcats are guard Archie Goodwin, who Is averaging 16.4 points per game and adding 4.4 assists each night.
Along with airing on Fox Sports Net/SportSouth, the game will be broadcast on ESPN3 outside of the Southeast. 102.5 The Game will also carry the game with pregame starting at 11:15 a.m.
