MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference released its Academic All-Conference Team Tuesday with three men’s track and field performers on it. Junior Tucker Peabody and sophomores Houston Ward and Andrew Wolf were named to the squad for their academic and athletic performance.
“We always take pride in our academic achievements, as much as our ever increasing athletic accomplishments,” Bill Taylor, director of cross country and track and field, said. “It is a big point of emphasis in our program.”
Peabody, the two-time defending champion in the 200 meter dash, owns a 3.32 GPA in Biology. Peabody also advanced to the finals of the 60-meter dash at the A-Sun meet while competing on the 4X400 relay squad.
Ward garnered silver medalist honors in the shot put at the A-Sun Championships. His mark of 14.89 meters earned him his second-straight all-conference placing. Ward holds a 3.53 GPA with a major in Human Resource Management.
Wolf set the school-record in the 60-meter hurdles at A-Sun Championships. He advanced to the finals of the event, finishing with a time of 8.51 seconds. Wolf is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.58 GPA.
“Our men’s team is very well represented,” Taylor said. “I’m proud of them and hope to see more of our men on the Academic All-Conference team in the future.”
