NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Aaron Korn and George Brammeier, a pair of high school signees, are set to join the Lipscomb basketball program in 2014-15 as part of head coach Casey Alexander’s first signing class with the Bisons.
“We're thrilled to have these two guys officially on board as part of the Lipscomb family,” said Alexander. “They were significant targets for us and we're excited about what they'll bring to our program.”
A shooting guard from Frankton High School in Frankton, Ind., Korn is already the leading scorer in school history for the Eagles having eclipsed the 1,000 point mark as a junior under coach Brent Boston. Korn also plays for Fieldhouse Elite Scott Burton
“Aaron is an athletic scorer,” said Alexander. “He simply has a knack for putting the ball in the basket and we expect him to have a real impact for us on the perimeter.”
A native of Valrico, Fla., Brammeier is a big presence in the middle for Bloomingdale High School, where the 6-9 power forward plays for coach Joe Willis. Along with his play with the Eagles, Brammeier has starred with the Florida Select AAU team under coach Derek Holmes where he helped lead the squad to a runner-up finish in the 15u AAU national championship and propelled Select to the Boo Williams AAU Tourney crown.
“George is a versatile big man that fits our style very well,” said Alexander. “His physical nature will allow us to jam the ball inside like we prefer to do, but he's also a very capable scorer facing the basket.”
The Bisons hit the road on Friday night for the short trek to Vanderbilt for a 7 p.m. contest. The game is set to air on 94.9 Game 2 in the Nashville area.
