Willams named A-Sun Player of the Week after 32-point effort

MACON, Ga. – After putting up a 32-point effort against Berry on Friday night, Lipscomb sophomore Josh Williams has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.

Williams was clutch from the field connecting on 9-of-15 and solid from the charity stripe as well connecting on 11-of-13.  The Jackson, Mississippi native also grabbed a game-high four steals and hauled in four rebounds.

The 32 points rank Williams tied for fifth-best in the nation in scoring after the first weekend of action and were just two points off his personal best of 34 that he hit last year against ETSU.

The honor is Williams’ first Player of the Week from the league having been named A-Sun Newcomer of the Week three times during 2013-14.

The Bisons continue home action on Monday night hosting Belmont at 6:30 p.m. at Allen Arena.  The game will air on ESPN3 and via the WatchESPN app.
