NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After a quick break in the action for exams, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team makes a trip to Clarksville on Saturday afternoon for a 4 p.m. contest against Austin Peay at the Winfred Dunn Center.
The Bisons (3-5) head into the contest against the Governors (2-6) looking to make it five-straight wins over Austin Peay in the NCAA Division I era since the series resumed between the two schools in 2010.
The game will be carried live on the radio on 94.9 Game 2 with Jonathan Seamon calling the action. It will also be broadcast online on the OVC Digital Network.
Inside the Herd:
- Sophomore guard Josh Williams sits among the A-Sun scoring leaders in fourth, averaging 15.9 points per game. Williams has now scored in double figures in each of the last ten contests for the Bisons a figure that leads the A-Sun. He ranks tied for 19th nationally in scoring among sophomore guards.
- Lipscomb looks to snap a five-game road skid on Saturday. The Bisons have not lost six in a row on the road since the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.
- Senior forward Malcolm Smith is within striking distance of moving into second place on the Lipscomb NCAA Division I charts ahead of former standout Adnan Hodzac, who sank 403 from the line during his career. Malcolm Smith has 400 at present ranking 15th in A-Sun history and fifth in the NCAA among active players. Josh Slater owns the top mark at Lipscomb with 484 freebies in his career as a Bison.
- Freshman guard Nathan Moran has made an early impact in just six games averaging 10.3 ppg including leading the Bisons with a 16-point effort against Transylvania and a 17-point afternoon at Colorado. The newcomer ranks 3rd in the A-Sun averaging 2.6 treys per game.
