MACON, Ga. – Helping lead the Lipscomb men’s basketball team to a 2-0 week in league play, sophomore guard Josh Williams has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference co-Player of the Week as announced on Monday.
Williams averaged 23 points per game last week after scoring 18 points against USC Upstate on Tuesday and then pouring in 28 on Saturday at Kennesaw State. The Jackson, Mississippi native also added seven rebounds in the win over the Spartans.
Saturday against the Owls, Williams took over the game in the final 10 minutes of the second half including hitting four 3-pointers in just over three minutes of action. He went on to nail a career high eight treys in the win hitting 8-of-11 from beyond the arc and 10-of-14 from the field overall.
Williams shares the award with Dallas Moore of North Florida, who helped the Osrpeys remain unbeaten in A-Sun play as well. It is the second A-Sun Player of the Week honor for Williams this season.
The Bisons return to action on Thursday night hosting Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. at Allen Arena.
