Battle of the Boulevard named a Best Under-the-Radar Rivalry

SAN FRANCISCO – Featuring crowds as large as 15,000-plus in the series that dates back to 1953, the “Battle of the Boulevard” between Lipscomb and Belmont has been named the No. 4 “Best Under-the-Radar Rivalry” in men’s college basketball by Bleacher Report.

The publication listed the close proximity of the schools, the history of the rivalry and the crossover between the schools as reason that the “Battle” is one of the nation’s top rivalries.

It marks the third time since summer 2014 that the Lipscomb program has been highlighted by Bleacher Report.  The Bisons were tabbed by the website as one of three teams that could become the next mid-major powerhouse in NCAA hoops.  Lipscomb was also predicted to be one of the top-10, 3-point shooting teams in the nation this season.
