Meyer set to be inducted into Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame

LINCOLN, Neb. – Former Lipscomb men’s basketball head coach Don Meyer will be honored by the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame at its annual induction ceremony next fall in the “ Cornhusker State”.

A Nebraska native, Meyer averaged 20 points per game as a senior at Wayne High School before attending Northern Colorado University where he earned All-America honors in basketball and all-conference honors in baseball.  He would go on to become the all-time winningest coach in collegiate basketball with a career record of 923-324 in 38 seasons at Lipscomb, Northern State and Hamline.

Meyer, who passed away in 2014, is already a member of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, the South Dakota Hall of Fame and the Lipscomb University Athletics Hall of Fame.  He also was a honored as the 2009 recipient of the Jimmy V ESPY Award for Perseverance.
