Men's Hoops struggle with goodbyes on day six in Dominican Republic

Day 6

I am honestly overwhelmed by everything God is doing with this team. It brings such great joy to see the kids standing outside of the bus waiting for us. Being one of the few seniors on this trip, it makes me feel like Lipscomb Basketball will be left in great hands.

The younger guys on the team have such a heart for God and it was evident in the work that was done. There were times where I would become weary and let the selfishness set in because I was tired, but every time I felt that way, a kid would come up and put the biggest smile on my face. One kid in particular named Filipe really warmed my heart. He followed me around pretty much the whole week and he asked me if I was coming back tomorrow. I had to tell him that it was our last day and his reaction almost brought tears. His mood instantly changed  and you could see the hurt from my response.

When we finished the playground my honest response was, "WOW!"  Not because of the work we completed but because of the lives we invested in while doing it. I know God will continue to bless this community and it was such an honor to be his hands and feet this week.
