NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The 7th Annual Adoption Rally is set for the men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against ASUN Conference foe NJIT on Feb. 3 in conjunction with the annual Star Wars Day at Allen Arena.
“The Adoption Rally is one of a number of ways that the Bisons give back to the local community,” said Lipscomb assistant director of athletics for communications and broadcasting Jamie Gilliam. “ “Since its inception the Adoption Rally has been a powerful event as each year we see families come back with their children that Lipscomb Athletics has played a small role in finding a forever home.”
The doubleheader will get underway at Noon as the women’s basketball team hosts the Highlanders before the men’s team takes on NJIT at 4 p.m.
Since its inception in 2012, the Bisons have given away over $100,000 to families that are the process of adoption. Each selected family is given the opportunity to invite friends, family, co-workers and fellow church members with 100 percent of ticket sales going toward their adoption. All gameday walk-up ticket sales are also donated to the families that are involved with each receiving and equal share.
There are still a few slots available for the upcoming event for families that are currently in the process of adoption. To apply or find out more information visit: http://www.adoptionrally.com
