Quick turnaround on tap as Bisons travel to FGCU on Saturday

FORT MYERS, Fla. – In a matchup featuring the top two teams in the ASUN Conference, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team heads to Alico Arena on Saturday night for its final road game of the season against Florida Gulf Coast at 6 p.m. The Bisons will be going for their fourth straight win, and their eighth in the last nine outings.

Lipscomb (18-9, 8-4 ASUN) owns an 11-9 advantage in the series all-time against the Eagles (20-9, 11-1 ASUN), however, it was FGCU who came to Nashville in mid-January and escaped with the victory after erasing an 18-point, second-half deficit. The last three meetings in the series have been decided by five points or less.

The game will air live on ESPN3 and via the WatchESPN app.

The Eagles are third in the ASUN in scoring at 80.3 points per game, while holding opponents to 70.0. That +10.3 scoring margin is tops in the conference. They have shot over .500 in the last three games, and in four of their last five.

The 28.41 defensive rebounds per game is the 19th best total in the country.

Brandon Goodwin is the Eagles’ top scorer (17.8), rebounder (5.7) and assist man (4.8). Zach Johnson is the next highest scorer at 14.9, followed by Christian Terrell’s 11.6.
