LAKEPOINT, Ga. –Lipscomb’s Rob Marberry has been named ASUN Conference Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. It is the second time in his career that Marberry has been named the league’s Player of the Week. His first came just two week ago.
Marberry helped lead Lipscomb to a big 83-74 win over Kennesaw State on Thursday in the Bisons regular season finale. The win was the ninth in 10 games for the Purple and Gold and gave them 20 for the second straight season.
The junior forward was incredible against the Owls, finishing with a game-high 32 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. The Nashville native was nearly perfect from the floor, draining 13 of his 15 field goal attempts, while also going 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.
He score 18 points in the first half, and then added 16 in the final 20 minutes of action.
Marberry shares his honor with Jacksonville’s Devin Harris, who notched a triple-double in the Dolphins win over rival North Florida.
