Pepper lands a spot on ASUN All-Academic Team

LakePoint, Ga. – Lipscomb’s Eli Pepper continues to shine, not only on the court, but also in the classroom.

The junior landed a spot on the ASUN Men’s Basketball All-Academic team for the second season in a row, when the league office announced the awards on Saturday.

Pepper carries a 3.53 GPA as a Corporate Marketing major.

On the court, Pepper is one of top rebounders and most elusive players in the conference. His 8.0 boards per game is third in the league, and his 20 blocks are 10th most. That goes along with his 6.7 points per outing on the offensive end.

In league games only, the Princeton, Kentucky native is posting even better rebounding numbers at 8.6 per game. Earlier this season, he became just the fifth player in Lipscomb’s NCAA era to pull down 500 career rebounds.

Pepper has notched 10 or more rebounds in 10 games this year, including a season high of 15 on the road at No. 24 Tennessee and at home against Jacksonville.

Kennesaw State’s Nick Masterson was named Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Pepper and the Bisons are set to open play in the 2018 ASUN Championship on Monday at 7 p.m. as the No. 2 seed hosting No. 7 Stetson.  To purchase tickets visit or call 615-966-HERD (4373).
