Mathews earns seventh career ASUN Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. - Following 2-0 weeks by Lipscomb and NJIT, Garrison Mathews and Zach Cooks shared the ASUN Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolade. 

The win was the seventh in Mathews' career and his first of the 2018-19 season. 

Mathews guided Lipscomb to victories against #18 TCU and Morehead State over the past seven days as the Bisons improved to 5-1 heading into Saturday's showdown at Middle Tennessee.

Against the top-25 Horned Frogs, the senior guard produced his third 20-point game of the season with 23 while grabbing five rebounds and three assists. It marked Lipscomb's first-ever win vs. a top-25 foe.

In Sunday's win at Morehead State, the Bisons posted their largest margin of victory since 2009 as Mathews scored seven points in the opening 18 minutes of action.
