NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The 8th Annual Adoption Rally is set for the men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against first-year ASUN Conference foe North Alabama on Feb. 2 in conjunction with the annual Star Wars Day at Allen Arena.
“The Adoption Rally is a fun and unique way to help raise funds for families seeking adoption,” said Lipscomb Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs Brent McMillian. “With 100% of ticket sales for this game going back to the families involved, we are thrilled to partner with our fans and local community to help do our small part in giving back.”
The doubleheader will get underway at 1:30 p.m. as the women’s basketball team hosts the Lions before the men’s team takes on UNA at 4.
Since its inception in 2012, the Bisons have given away over $100,000 to families that are the process of adoption. Each selected family is given the opportunity to invite friends, family, co-workers and fellow church members with 100 percent of ticket sales going toward their adoption. All gameday walk-up ticket sales are also donated to the families that are involved with each receiving and equal share.
There are still a few slots available for the upcoming event for families that are currently in the process of adoption. The deadline to apply is Dec. 14.
