Men's Basketball ranked No. 7 in Mid-Major Top 25

BOSTON, Ma. – After keeping picking up another road victory this week, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team climbed to seventh in the latest Mid-Major Top 25 on Monday.

The Bisons, who were ranked eighth a week ago, moved up one spot after defeating perennial mid-major power Middle Tennessee, 84-74, in Murfreesboro on Saturday.

Lipscomb received 557 total points from a panel of 31 mid-major coaches around the country. They were just 33 behind UNC Greensboro in fifth.

Lipscomb head coach Casey Alexander is one of the ASUN’s two representative on the panel. Florida Gulf Coast’s first-year coach Michael Fly is the other.

Gonzaga tops the poll with all 31 first-place votes and 775 points. Buffalo, Furman, Belmont and Woffor round out the top five. 

Liberty (No. 24) is the only other ASUN member in the latest ranking.

In its 20th season of existence, the Mid-Major Top 25 Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, ASUN, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.
