  • Became the fastest player to reach 1,000 points in the NCAA Division I era hitting the storied mark in 65 contests to become the 47th-player all-time to reach the feat.
  • Set the NCAA era single-game scoring record with 39 points at Jacksonville (1/19/17)
  • Also set the NCAA era record for FT made in a game (18) and tied the record for attempts (21)
  • ASUN Player of the Week (12/12/16)
  • Came up one FT shy of tying the NCAA era record of 160 set by Josh Slater in 2010-11
  • His 652 points rank second in the NCAA era trailing only Adnan Hodzic’s 682 in 2009-10
  • Ranked third in the ASUN in overall scoring with a 20.4 ppg mark and finished second in league-only games averaging 20.3 ppg.
  • Also ranked in the top-10 in rebounding in league games with 6.6 rpg

2015-16 (Freshman):

  • 2016 ASUN All-Freshman team selection
  • Two-time ASUN Freshman of the Week
  • Played in all 33 games making 12 starts
  • Finished fourth on the team in scoring (10.9 ppg)
  • Averaged a team best 15.2 ppg in league play, second among conference freshmen
  • Scored a season high 27 points in the ASUN semifinals against Stetson. 

High School:

  • Prepped at Franklin High School under coach Jamie Wilson
  • Two-time All-Region and All-District selection at FHS
  • Averaged 14 points and six rebounds per game
  • Rated a 3-star small forward by Future150
  • Joined the Rebels 1,000-point club as a senior.


  • Son of Rob and Jane Mathews
  • Has one older sister (Juliet) and one older brother (Braden)
  • Grandfather played football on Ole Miss’ 1962 National Championship team
  • Also recruited by USC Upstate, UMass-Lowell, Austin Peay, Lee and Lees McCrae.
