The Lipscomb men’s cross country team finished eighth at the University of Evansville Invitational in Evansville, Ind. on Saturday morning.
Junior Ryan Chastain led the Bisons finishing 14th out of 239 runners with a time of 25:06.58.
Dan Dunbar of Southern Illinois won the 8000 meter race with a time of 24:26.08.
Freshman Nathan Brame finished 60th with a time of 26:11.97. Fellow freshman Ben Fennell was third for the Bisons in 72nd with a time of 26:26.77.
Junior David Wolfe finished in 77th place in 26:32.24. Freshman Hunter Hethcoat rounded out the top five for Lipscomb 90th place at 26:40.56.
Also competing for the Bisons were freshman Trace Carlson finishing 91st with a time of 26:41.13 and sophomore Jonathan Williams finishing 114th at 27:14.72.
Southern Illinois won the team competition with 31 points including placing the first four runners. Lipscomb finished with 256 points with an average time of 26:11.63. The field included 22 teams.
The Bisons are back in action on Nov. 1 in Macon, Ga. in the Atlantic Sun Championship.
