Bisons cross country team is third at Vanderbilt Classic

The Lipscomb Bisons cross country team overcame a wet course and humid conditions to finish third in the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic Saturday at Vaughn's Creel Course at Percy Warner Park in Nashville.

Jordan Wilson was the top finish for the Bisons, completing the 8-kilometer course in a time of 27:53.83, a fourth place finish for team scoring purposes.

David Wolfe finished 13th for the Bisons with a time of 29:08.28. Paul Irwin was also in the top 20 with a 15th place finish with a time of 29:24.51.

Jared Carlson finished 17th for team scoring with a time of 29:42.27. Andrew Shankles was 20th with a time of 30:35.03.

Tim Cotton finished 30th for the Bisons with a time of 32:56.49.

Sixty-two runners completed the course.

Vanderbilt won the event. Union University was second.

Tennessee Tech was fourth followed by Bethel College in fifth, Gordon College in sixth and Tennessee State in seventh.
