The Lipscomb men's and women's cross country teams begin the 2007 season at the Belmont Opener this Friday evening.

Both races are at Vaughn's Gap in Percy Warner Park with the women's 4-K starting at 5:30, and the men's 5-K to follow at 6.

"We are excited to get the season underway and see where we are," said head coach Bill Taylor. "Practices have been solid and the team has really bonded well.

"t will be nice to get out there and race against someone. It's also an advantage to open the season with a short race on our home course. We will be hosting the A-Sun Conference Championships at Vaughn's Gap on October 27th, so catching an early race there is an advantage."

In 2006 the Lipscomb Women opened the season with a 7th place finish out of twelve teams at the Belmont Opener, while the men finished 6th out of eleven teams.
