Cross Country sees little movement in latest poll

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With the release of the Atlantic Sun Conference Coach’s Poll, the Lipscomb cross country squads saw little movement.

The Lady Bisons continued their firm grip on first place as a unanimous selection earning 100 points. North Florida continued to be placed second with 88 points.

On the men’s side, the Bisons held firm in the second place selection, earning four first place votes and 87 points. The Purple and Gold trails ETSU which garnered five first-place votes and a total of 92 points.

Although trailing ETSU in the A-Sun poll, Lipscomb continues to be in front of the Bucs in the South Region Poll. The Bisons gained a spot, moving up to fifth place, continuing to be the highest-ranked mid-major in the poll trailing Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Auburn. ETSU is ranked eighth in the region poll.

The Lady Bisons are also the highest-ranked mid-major on the women’s side as they stood pat with the fourth place ranking in the South Region. Lipscomb trails Florida State, Vanderbilt and Florida and is the only A-Sun school to be represented in the poll.

Lipscomb returns to the course on Oct. 19 participating in two meets. Part of the squad will participate in the Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., while the rest compete at the Front Runner Invite in Chattanooga, Tenn.
