MACON, Ga. – The Lipscomb cross country team had five student-athletes receive Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference honors, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
Juniors Barbara Lee Ball and Sally Larson, senior Madi Talbert and sophomore Katie Bianchini were each named to the Women’s Academic All-Conference Team, while senior Jared Wingerter was named to the Men’s Academic All-Conference Team.
Ball was named the A-Sun Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year after being unanimously voted to the All-Academic team.
Ball, a member of the 2014 All-Academic squad as well, marked the fifth consecutive year a Lady Bison as won the A-Sun Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The Lady Bisons have earned the award in each year of its existence.
As a nursing major, Ball has maintained a 4.0 GPA while at Lipscomb.
Larson, 2014’s recipient of the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, and Bianchini earned a 4.0 GPA’s this year as well. Larson is a graphic design major, while Bianchini majors in communications.
As an elementary education major, Talbert has compiled a 3.38 GPA this semester while earning her second consecutive individual A-Sun Championship.
Wingerter posted a GPA of 3.51 in his final year as a biology major. This is a men's school-record third year in a row that Wingerter has been named to the A-Sun Academic All-Conference Team.
The Bisons will be back in action this Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the NCAA Division I South Regionals.
