TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Lipscomb cross country squad ended another record-breaking campaign on Friday morning as its season came to an end at the NCAA Division I South Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The Lady Bisons placed eighth out of 30 teams with a total of 206 points, placing the, above Florida, Georgia, and fellow Atlantic Sun programs FGCU, North Florida, and Jacksonville.
The men’s side finished 11th out of 21 squads with 298 points. They finished above Mississippi State and A-Sun teams North Florida and FGCU.
Freshman Brooke Kingma led the way for the Lady Bisons, finishing 25th out of 208 runners with a time of 21:01.9
Junior Barbara Lee Ball placed just behind Kingma in 32nd with a 21:15.2 mark.
Seniors Madi Talbert (21:28.8) and Kate Bucknam (21:34.9) finished 42nd and 51st respectively, while junior Sally Larson placed 62nd with a time of 21:45.0.
Sophomore Katie Bianchini (22:00.9) and freshman Kelli Nesky (22:09.2) ensured that all the Lady Bisons finished in the top 100, placing 76th and 84th.
On the men’s side, Juan Gonzalez paced the Bisons with a time of 31:37.9 to finish 25th out of 150 racers. Gonzalez's time earned him an All-Region honor.
Junior Christian Freeman (32:23.0), senior Daniel Gardner (32:39.5), and junior Jacob Poyner (32:44.2) finished at 53rd, 66th, 70th, respectively, while freshman Robert Rupp (33:13.0), senior Jared Wingerter (33:24.4), and freshman Psalm Ocampo (34:11.5) placed 92nd, 104th, and 124th.
