Leber nabs first career ASUN Runner of the Week award

LAKEPOINT, Ga. – For the first time in his career, sophomore Brent Leber has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Leber turned in the top men’s performance of the weekend for Lipscomb with a 20th place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday. It was his third consecutive week as the top performing Bison.

Leber’s mark of 25:05.2 was the fastest 8k time in the ASUN so far this season.

His time helped the Purple and Gold earn a seventh place finish with 185 total points overall, 36 ahead of nationally-ranked Central Arkansas. Each of the six teams that finished ahead of the Bisons were ranked in the most recent USTFCCA South Central Region Coaches Poll.

The Purple and Gold will be back in action on October 1 at the Commodore Classic.
