TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After a pair of weeks with a meet, the Lipscomb cross country squad will be hitting the course again as the Bisons are set to participate in the Crimson Classic at the University of Alabama on Friday.
The men’s race is set to begin at 9 a.m. while the women will kick off at 9:45.
“We’ve been working really hard since our last race,” Lipscomb Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Bill Taylor said. “This is the last regular season meet, so this is kind of big in a certain way that it determines our postseason roster.”
Several top programs are expected to race at the Classic.
Among the teams set to participate in both races include hosts Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Mississippi State and Vanderbilt are set to race for the men and South Carolina in the women’s.
“There are a lot of the top regional teams there, so it’ll be a great competition,” Taylor said. “There are probably six-eight of the top teams in the region there. It will be an opportunity to see where we stand.
“It also gives us an opportunity to adjust things if we need to or work on some things if we see some weaknesses.”
