Cross country announces 2017 slate

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb cross country squad released its 2017 fall schedule on Wednesday, highlighted by meets both local and distant with tough opponents featured throughout.

"We are excited about the schedule,” Lipscomb Director of Cross Country Bill Taylor said. “It's a nice blend of meets that will allow us to progress through the season and keep testing ourselves against better and better competition. It can set us up very nicely to perform our best at the end of the season."

The campaign begins with a pair of local meets and an ASUN Championship preview as the Bisons start with the Belmont Opener on Sept. 2 followed by the KSU ASUN Preview on Sept. 8 and the Commodore Invite on Sept. 16.

On both Sept. 30 and Oct. 14, the squad will split up between two meets: the Louisville Classic and Jacksonville Invite on the 30 and the Princeton Invite and UTC Frontrunner on the 14.

The postseason will begin on Oct. 28 with the ASUN Championships, which will have the Bisons headed back to Kennesaw, hoping to earn a spot in the South Region Championships for both the men’s and women’s squads for the fourth consecutive season.
