Cross country is back in Nashville for Commodore Classic

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb cross country squad is headed back home this weekend as the Bisons will be competing in the Commodore Classic at Vaughn’s Gap Cross Country Course in Nashville.

The men’s race is set to kick off at 9 on Saturday morning at Percy Warner Park, followed by the women at 10.

The competition is stout for the meet, with nationally-ranked Middle Tennessee competing on the men’s side and nationally-ranked Missouri and Eastern Michigan competing on the women’s side.

11 more regionally-ranked squads will be racing on Saturday including: Belmont, Butler, Marshall, Missouri, Miami (Ohio), and Ohio State on the men’s side and Belmont, Butler, Miami (Ohio), Ohio State, and host Vanderbilt on the women’s.

Lipscomb is looking to extend its solid start to the season on Saturday. The women’s squad won the Stan Sims Invite last weekend, and sophomore Courtney Brenner has taken first place in each of the first two meets of the season. She has earned the ASUN Runner of the Week award for both outings.
