Cross country splits for pair of weekend meets

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb cross country squad is back in action after a week off and will be splitting up for a pair of meets over the weekend.

Part of the team is headed to Kentucky for the Louisville Classic, while the rest will trek down to Alabama to compete in the Jacksonville Foothills Invite.

At the Louisville Classic, the men’s race will kick off at 9:39 a.m., while the women’s contest will begin at 10:15 p.m.

In the men’s race, the competition will feature reigning national champion Northern Arizona, seventh-ranked Wisconsin, 12th-ranked Furman, 19th-ranked Middle Tennessee, 24th-ranked Virginia Tech, 26th-ranked Boise State, and 27th-ranked Illinois.

On the women’s side, 15th-ranked Boise State, 16th-ranked Wisconsin, 19th-ranked Minnesota, and 29th-ranked Vanderbilt will be racing alongside the Bisons.

After starting the season off with a pair of meets in Nashville and the ASUN Preview race at Kennesaw State, this will be a chance for Lipscomb to take on some new competition.
