LakePoint, Ga. – Lipscomb senior Jacob Poyner has been named the ASUN Cross Country Runner of the Week for the fourth time in his career and the third time this season, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
Poyner was the Bisons top racer at the Princeton Invitational, where the senior broke a program record in the 8K with a time of 24:12.1 to finish fifth in a field of 205 runners.
The Indiana native helped Lipscomb finish in 10th place out of a field of 21 teams, four of which were regionally-ranked.
Poyner won the award earlier in the season for his performances at the Commodore Classic and the Louisville Classic.
His four career wins extend his program record for Cross Country Runner of the Week awards.
The Bisons will be back on the course on Oct. 28 at the ASUN Championships in Kennesaw, Georgia.
