Cross country announces 2018 slate

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb cross country squad and director Bill Taylor have released the 2018 schedule on Thursday, highlighted by strong competition for the fall campaign.

The Bisons will kick things off in Nashville at the Belmont Invite on Aug. 31. The Battle of the Boulevard rivals will host Lipscomb during the season opener for the 10th consecutive year.

Lipscomb’s first out-of-state trip of the year will be to New York City as the Purple and Gold take place in the Fordham Invite on Sept. 8.

After a return to Nashville on Sept. 15 for the Vanderbilt Invite, Lipscomb will split for a pair of meets on Sept. 29: the Willamette Invite and the Jacksonville State Foothills Invite.

The Bisons will close out the regular season with a visit to Indiana for the Evansville Invite on Oct. 13.

The postseason begins on Oct. 26 with the ASUN Championship which also takes place in New York City. The men’s squad will be looking to earn its fifth ASUN title in six seasons, while the women will be looking to take home their seventh crown in eight seasons.

The NCAA South Region Championships are set for Nov. 9, and both the men’s and women’s squad are looking to advance there for the 10th straight year.
