NEW YORK CITY – The Lipscomb cross country squad is set to start the postseason on Friday as the Bisons head to New York City for the ASUN Championship.
The women’s 5K is slated to begin at 10 a.m., with the men’s 8K starting at 11.
The meet is set to take place at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, where Lipscomb dominated the Fordham Invite earlier this season winning both the men’s and women’s individual and team titles.
Silas Griffith and Courtney Brenner nabbed the only ASUN Runner of the Week awards for Lipscomb this season for their title-winning performances at the Fordham Invite.
The Purple and Gold enter the meet with a strong history of past success, as the women have won six out of the last seven titles, while the men have taken home four of the last five crowns, including last year’s championship.
In the latest USTFCCA Regional Rankings, the Lipscomb women’s squad placed seventh, while the men’s squad was voted 11th in the South Region.
On the men’s side, North Florida ranked one spot behind the Bisons, while Liberty placed 11th in the Southeast Region.
For the women, Lipscomb is the only ASUN team in the regional rankings.
