Cross country announces 2019 slate

NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb cross country squad and director Nick Polk have released the schedule for the 2019 season.

The fall campaign features meets both local and across the country with tough competition throughout as the women look to win their eighth ASUN title in the last nine seasons, while the men look to return to the championship podium after a third-place finish in 2018.

The Bisons begin the slate with a pair of hometown meets. Their season opener will take place at the Belmont Invite for the 11th consecutive season. The Battle of the Boulevard rivals will face off on Aug. 30.

Lipscomb will stay in Nashville for their second meet of the season, the Commodore Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt on Spet. 14.

The Bisons stampede out of town for the first time on Oct. 5 as the team will split for the Foothills Invite in Jacksonville, Alabama and the Louisville Classic in Kentucky.

The Purple and Gold will again split up for the last weekend of the regular season as part of the Bisons will head to the UAB Blazer Invite in Birmingham, Alabama on Oct. 18 and the rest will take on the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana on Oct. 19.

Lipscomb will kick off the postseason on Nov. 2 with the ASUN Championship, hosted by FGCU in Fort Myers, Florida.

The NCAA South Regional is slotted for Nov. 15 in Tallahassee, Florida, and the NCAA Championships are set for Nov. 23 back in Terre Haute.
