Jenny Randolph

Jenny Randolph begins her second year on the Lipscomb cross country and track and field coaching staff. While it’s only her second year coaching, she is no stranger to the school or the running program and continues to appreciate the success and progress that the program is enjoying.

In her first year in a coaching role, Randolph helped lead the Lady Bisons to their first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference Cross Country Championship title in school history.

Randolph moved to Nashville in 2007 to begin her undergraduate studies and collegiate running career at Lipscomb University. She was a captain of both the cross country and track and field teams beginning her sophomore year and maintained that role until her graduation in 2011.

Athletically, Randolph enjoyed success under head coach Bill Taylor, running on the varsity squad in cross country every season and taking 2:13 off her high school 5K personal record. She broke the school record in the indoor mile run in 2009 and, in the same year, was a member of the school record-breaking 4x1500 relay team in the outdoor season. Randolph was an A-Sun indoor conference qualifier in the mile and the distance medley relay in 2008, the 3000m run and the mile in 2009, and the 5K in 2010. She was an A-Sun outdoor conference qualifier in the 5K in 2010 and the 10K in 2011.

Her teammates’ votes awarded her honors at the end of each season throughout her four years on the team including the “Total Commitment”, “For the Team,” and “Fightin’ Bison,” awards.

A member of the Spiritual Direction Team, Randolph participated in a team mission trip to Los Angeles, Calif., in 2010 and served as secondary leader on team mission trips to Belize in 2011 and to Haiti in 2012.

Randolph was one of four senior athletes at Lipscomb to earn the President’s Scholar Award, given by the Atlantic Sun Conference to student-athletes who have finished their final year of eligibility, maintained a cumulative 3.8 or above GPA, and completed at least 48 credit hours. She earned All-Conference academic honors every semester.

Randolph holds USATF Level 1 coaching certification. She graduated from Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tenn. in 2007 and in 2011 graduated magna cum laude from Lipscomb with a B.S. in biology. She plans to finish her Master’s degree in education in the coming year.
