Lipscomb Freshman Clint Suggs rounded out his best tournament with a two-over par 73 in the final 18 holes at the Belmont Intercollegiate. After shooting a team low 67 in the first round, he fired a 72 in the second round for a team best one-under par 212. He finished tied for 19th in the field of 62.
After shooting a 67 on the second set of 18 Monday afternoon, Cory Parkinson fired a 75 Tuesday. Coupled with a 71 in the first round, Parkinson finished the tournament even par at 213. He was tied for 25th in the tournament.
Following Suggs and Parkinson, was John Higgins who finished tied for 55th place with a 15-over par 228 (74-76-78). Josh Dyer finished in 61st shooting 235 (74-83-78). Chad Rush finished 62nd shooting 238 (78-77-83).
As a team, Lipscomb finished in 9th place with a team score of 882 (286-292-304). Austin Peay won the tournament shooting an 824.
Lipscomb is back in action Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday in Tennessee State's tournament at Greystone Country Club in Dickson, Tenn.
