Bisons close out golf season at Atlantic Sun Championship

The Lipscomb golf team shot a third round 299 to finish in ninth place in the Atlantic Sun Golf Championship at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. Wednesday afternoon.

The Bisons shot 915 (308-308-299) in the three-day tournament. Jacksonville University won the championship and a trip to the NCAA Regional with a score of 845 (286-282-277).

Taylor Lewis was the top finisher for the Bisons with a score of 218 (68-75-75) which placed him in a tie for 19th place.

Dustin Lynch finished tied for 41st with a score of 229 (77-76-76). Parker Beck tied for 46th with a score of 234 (84-75-75). Cody Hale finished 48th with a 236 (79-84-73). Paul Warren was 49th with a 248 (84-82-82).

The tournament was the last one for Lipscomb Coach Ralph Samples who is retiring after 39 years as golf coach. Buddy Harston has been hired as the new coach for both the men's and women's programs.
