Lipscomb Bisons golf coach Buddy Harston has announced the signings of Alex Cox from Old Hickory, Tenn., and Blanton Farmer. from Lexington, Ky., for the 2009-10 seasons.
Playing under less than ideal conditions in the final round Wednesday Clint Suggs and Cory Parkinson finished tied for 22nd in the Atlantic Sun Tournament in Buies Creek, N.C.
Lipscomb's Cory Parkinson and Stetson's Tommy Parker matched the low round of the day, each shooting three-under, 69 in the second round of the Atlantic Sun Championship. Parkinson moved into a tied for seventh place after starting the day in a tie for 14th.

Kenny Perry, a member of the Lipscomb Athletics Hall of Fame, is tied for the lead with Angel Cabrera after three rounds at the Masters. Perry and Cabrera were tied at 11-under 205, the lowest 54-hole score at Augusta in seven years.

The Lipscomb Bisons golf team finished fifth in the 10th annual Kauai Collegiate Cup in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii.The Bisons shot a three-round team score of 892 (303, 290, 299) in the 11-team tournament hosted by Western Kentucky University at the Wailua Golf Course.
A decision was reached Sunday afternoon by the Grover Page Classic tournament committee and Jackson Country Club staff to go ahead and cancel the tournament for this year at Jackson Country Club Monday and Tuesday.

FRANKLIN, Ky. - The annual Bison Golf Scramble went out on a high note. It's not ending, though. It's being renamed to honor one of Lipscomb's most avid athletics fans. Thursday at the Kenny Perry's Country Creek Golf Course a record number of golfers, more than 130, played in the scramble, one of the more popular events on the Lipscomb athletics calendar. One of the big announcements during the awards dinner was that the event is now known as the Barry Brewer Golf Scramble.

Lipscomb golf coach Buddy Harston completed the first round of the Senior Open Championship Thursday at the Royal Troon Golf Club in Ayrshire, Scotland. Harston, who teed off at 7:40 a.m. Scotland time, 1:40 a.m. local time, shot a 79 and was tied for 120th with several golfers still on the course.
Former Lipscomb University golfer Cody Hale won the 2008 SunTrust State Open at Gaylord Springs Golf Links earlier this month.
