Thursday, July 16, 2009

Lipscomb Bisons golf coach Buddy Harston has announced the signing of Ben McMahon from Fort Myers, Fla.

McMahon is a four-year All-District performer for Fort Myers High School. He was the District Champion in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and the Regional Champion in 2006. He qualified for the State Finals in 2006 and 2007.

His high school team was the conference champion from 2005 through 2008.

He served as captain of his high school team. He was also named the team’s most valuable player.

During his senior season he finished under par four times with scores of 33, 34, 34 and 35.

McMahon has also worked hard in the classroom. He was an A-B honor roll member for four years.

He admits he was not familiar with Lipscomb until the school began the recruiting process.

“I was very impressed with Coach Harston and his approach towards coaching and the game,” said McMahon.

He is the son of Nancy and Gary McMahon. He has two sisters, Chelsea and Abby. He plans on majoring in Business.
