Harston to use eBay to raise money for golf programs
During these tough economic times many people have turned to eBay to make some extra money.

Buddy Harston, golf coach for the men’s and women’s teams a Lipscomb, would like to raise some extra dollars for a couple of projects to help his golf team. He has decided to go the eBay route as well.

Anyone with a golfer on their Christmas gift list will want to go on eBay after Thanksgiving and look for three Masters flags and one Ryder Cup flag. The Masters flags are signed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson. The Ryder Cup flag, from the Valhalla course, is signed by Kenny Perry.

The four players were chosen for more than the fact they have all been stars on the pro tour.

“All four of these guys played college golf,” said Harston. “I sent the requests on Bisons athletics letterhead. I had a good feeling about this. Within three days they had each signed a flag and sent I back to me.”

Harston was on eBay searching for old baseball cards when he came up with the idea.

“I flipped over to the memorabilia section and saw an autographed Tiger Woods hat was selling for hundreds of dollars. I thought this was a simple idea that could raise some money.”
