Barry Brewer Golf Tournament set for Sept. 12
The 2011 Barry Brewer Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, and played at the Legends Golf Course in Franklin, Tenn.

The event is open to individuals and foursomes.  The cost is $180 per individual and $720 for a team.

The Barry Brewer Golf Tournament is an annual fund-raiser for the Lipscomb University golf program.  The Tournament has existed for over 25 years but was renamed in honor of long-time Bisons supporter Barry Brewer in 2008.

Brewer lost a long-time battle with cancer in 2008.  A former tennis player for the Bisons, Brewer was an avid supporter of all the athletic programs at Lipscomb. He was the director of the Bison Club and also a member of the Lipscomb Athletics Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2003 for his meritorious service to the athletics program.

Brewer spent many years as a founder, salesman, recruiter and director of the Bison Golf Scramble.

In order for more people to be able to participate, this year’s tournament has changed locations and moved to Legends Golf Club.

Tournament sponsorships start at $250 for a hole sponsorship.  For questions on the event, please contact Lipscomb Golf Coach Buddy Harston at
