LEXINGTON, Ky. -The Lipscomb men’s golf team finished 15th in this weekend’s “Bluegrass Fall Invitational” hosted by the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.
This stout and very challenging field of competition showed some bright spots for the Bisons with junior Blanton Farmer tying for 33rd with a competitive score of 225 (+12) on the weekend. Following Farmer was freshman Nate Johnson, who tied for 53rd with a score of 229 (+16) and sophomore Ryan Terry, who finished tied for 68th with a 232 (+19). Rounding out the Bisons competitors were freshmen Paul Klein-Kracht, who finished tied for 76th and Taylor Combs, who tied for 80th.
The host Wildcats claimed first place in this season-opening tournament turning in an 864 (+12) for the weekend. Dayton at 868 (+16) and Wright State with an 875 (+23) took home 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Marshall’s Bosten Miller took home top individual honors shooting a two-under par 211 in the 54-hole event.
Farmer and the Bisons look to bounce back after a very challenging weekend when they hit the links on Oct. 3rd in Murray, Ky., for the “Murray State Invitational.”
