Men's golf in seventh after two rounds at Grover Page Classic

JACKSON, Tenn. – (Updated) The Lipscomb men's golf team improved play in the second round by seven strokes and moved up to seventh place on Monday afternoon . Sophomore Ryan Terry continued to play well shooting another 3-over par round and remaining in the top 20, now at a total 6-over par. As play continues and ties break, Blanton Farmer and Paul Klein-Kracht show potential of continued improvement.

The final round will begin Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

After a 30-minute delay caused by last night's heavy rains, the Lipscomb men’s golf team hit the course for the first round of the 2012 "Grover Page Classic" hosted by UT Martin at the Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tenn. The par 72 Jackson Country Club course is playing at a length of 6,783 yards.

With the first round of the 54-hole stroke play tournament complete, the Bison worked their way up to eighth. Sophomore Ryan Terry led Lipscomb finishing the round at 3-over par and standing among the top 20 in the tournament so far.

The second round is hoped to be completed tonight before dark. With 12 teams competing, including six from the state of Tennessee and five Ohio Valley Conference member institutions, along with 15 participants competing as individuals, tournament play concludes on Tuesday.
