JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Lipscomb men’s golf team wrapped up the 2012 regular season with a sixth-place finish in the “Grub Mart Intercollegiate” hosted by Jacksonville State at the Silver Lakes Golf Course in Jacksonville.
After firing a 298 on Monday, the Bison were unable to keep the momentum going on Tuesday shooting 315 and 318 in the final two rounds.
Junior Blanton Farmer led the way for the Bison tying for 17th place with a 231 (71-81-79). Sophomore Ryan Terry (79-77-76) and freshman Nate Johnson (72-80-80) finished one shot behind Farmer in a tie for 18th.
Sophomore Dustin Wilder tied for 37th with a 241 (80-78-83), while freshman Paul Kleine-Kracht finished right behind Wilder with a 242 (76-80-86) to place 39th.
Host Jacksonville State took top honors in the nine-team field with an 897, 12 shots ahead of Eastern Kentucky. JSU’s Tom Robson took home medalist honors with a 216.
The Bison head to Chateau Elan, Ga., for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on April 15-17.
