Strong first round for men's golf in season opener

The Lipscomb men’s golf team opened play for this season at the Wasioto Winds Fall Kick-Off Tournament in Pineville, Ky on Monday. 

At the end of the first round of play, the Bisons stand at third place, one over par. Blanton Farmer leads the Bisons at one under par landing in a six-way tie for eighth place.  Farmer is followed by Paul Klein-Kracht and Dustin Wilder shooting at par in a six-way tie for fourteenth place. Alex Cox sits two over par while Ryan Terry is six over par, and competing individually, Tyler Leroy finished the day four over par.

With a combined score of 289, the Bisons are just three shots behind UT Martin (286) and seven shots behind leader Murrary State (282).

Wasioto Winds Golf Course is a par 72 course over 6,719 yards.

The tournament began with a shotgun start this morning at 8 a.m. EST. The second round of play concludes this evening and the final round will be a shotgun start tomorrow morning.
